JUAN GIL GOS MONASTRELL 2009

This wine is from Spain. The grape is also known as Mourvèdre.
Dark colored, nose is filled with cherries,fruit and floral aromas. On the palate this wine is dry good structured with tannins with flavors of berries and tobacco. Long, tasty finish.

Cherries, vanilla, smoke, mint. Long peppery finish.
 Great now, can age for a while.

Very interesting Zin and very good.

Some would say-classic.  Dark ruby color, on the nose aromas of cherries, spices, tobacco, on the palate dry with delicious flavors of dark berries, ripe cherries, leather, meat. Full bodied. Long juicy finish.

DOMAINE HERVÉ AZO BEAUROY CHABLIS 1ER CRU 2010

I really enjoyed this wine! I think of all Chardonnays, Chablis is my favorite!
Light straw color. Traditionally Chablis is unoaked. I like oaked Chardonnays but Chablis is very special wine. 
Nose is layered with apple, pear, floral aromas. On the palate dry, crisp, flavors of apples, citrus, little minerality. Nice, medium finish. Very classic and very pleasant.

Great,  great cab! Very dry, very tannic and aromatic. Lot's of black currant, cedar, tobacco, very complex palate.  Good, full body, long juicy, chewy finish.

Francis Coppola Diamond Collection Red Label Zinfandel 2009, California

Dark ruby color. On the nose lot's of cherries, plum, smoked meat, licorice. On the palate dry, fruity, ripe blackberries, vanilla, spices. Soft tannins, little unusual noticeable acidity, but balances good with jammy, syrupy flavors of this wine. Long, lush finish.

Ruhlmann Cuvée Jean Charles Riesling 2009, Ac

Riesling from Alsace.
Light yellow color, on the nose aromas of stone fruits, floral, little mineral, very pleasant.
On the palate dry, good balance of acidity and fruitiness, zesty citrus. Medium finish.

Domaine De L'ardennerie Muscadet Sèvre & Maine 2010, Ac, Sur Lie

Muscadet is very popular grape in Loire valley region. Light straw color with a little tint of green.
Mineral aromas with a little bit of fruit, citrus. On the palate dry, crisp with acidity. Wine is asking for oysters! Nice, fresh finish.

Irony Merlot 2009, Napa Valley

Very nice Californian wine. Rich,  with ripe raspberries aromas, black cherries and blueberries with notes of cedar and dark chocolate. Plum flavor with a spicy cherry and fruity, but dry medium body . Chewy, fruity finish.

Arele appassimento 2009 tommasi

This wine was made by traditional method by drying grapes for month.
That gives wine complex and pleasant taste and aromas. Medium body, good balance of acidity, light tannin, and a little smoky.
Very nice wine. Good with pasta, light meat dishes, light cheese.

Two wines from Bordeaux

Château Sainte Barbe Les Arglies 2008

100% Merlot.

 Very unusual color very deep plum with violet rim. Lot of raspberries on the nose and on the palate. For my taste  to much acidity. Dry with some earthiness, medium finish

  Château Pey La Tour 2008  95% Merlot

Deep ruby color, on the nose red berries, cedar, cherries. After a first sip, nose is very parfumy, then coming back again: lot's of oak. Much softer, than first Merlot- more aromas, more flavors, more elegant.

 Interesting, same year, very different wines. Medium body, nice, long round finish. 

First wine is nice Bordeaux, but a little bit unbalanced. Second one is definitely better, and richer in aromas. very good balance.

Frei Brothers Reserve 2008 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Classic Californian Cabernet Sauvignon!
Rich deep ruby color.  On the nose flavors of blackberries, raspberries, oak, tobacco. On the palate lot's of black currant,  little bit of cedar, soft tannins. This wine is better after decanting, needs to breath. Long, round, flavorful finish.
This wine is great by itself, for sipping, as well as good with rich meat dishes.
